High Point Library is now a Certified Autism Center™ (CAC). A designation awarded by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) to organizations that complete training. The library has a monthly sensory friendly story time. The library also has sensory rescue packs at each reference desk that patrons can use when feeling overwhelmed (they include noise cancelling head phones, weighted lap blankets, and a variety of fidget toys). In the fall of 2024 construction on the library’s sensory garden should be completed.
